Used Office Furniture is the Way to Go

The old saying that a new car’s value immediately depreciates the moment it drives off the lot also holds true for office furniture. New office furniture is only new the day you buy it (with the new furniture price tag), which is why many businesses look to used office furniture solutions. There are a few reasons why selecting used office furniture is a great idea; its economical, you get more bang for your buck, and its environmentally friendly.

It seems like a no-brainer, but used office furniture is a great way for a business to save money. Many people might automatically assume that since the furniture is used that the quality is speculative. This doesn’t necessarily always hold true. Often times a business can purchase used office furniture that is a higher quality than the new office furniture, for less. To use another car example, you could purchase a new barebones, stripped down Toyota Corolla (not that there is anything wrong with that), that has the roll down windows (the worst) and manual locks (double worse), or you could look at a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. The Certified Pre-Owned vehicle comes fully loaded with leather seats, a sun roof (not that anyone ever uses them) and power locks and windows, at slightly less than the new vehicle. The choice seems like an easy one. In the realm of office furniture, you can purchase a new cubicle that is minimally outfitted with anything and made with lesser quality materials, or you can buy quality used cubicles at a lower price point that are built to last.

Pre-owned office furniture is also environmentally friendly. By purchasing used office furniture you are preventing the use of additional raw materials to produce new office furniture, as well as keeping the old out of landfills. Used office furniture can even help you earn points toward LEED certification.

As you can see there are a number of benefits to purchasing used office furniture. You can receive a higher quality product for less, while being conscious of your environment. I believe that is a win-win situation.
